On 28 July 2011, the State MP for Newcastle did an interview with NBN TV news, in which he said he should have an announcement about the old Newcastle Post Office within two weeks.
He declared he was like a duck: not much activity visible above the water but plenty going on beneath.
The Advocate is not making this up. Watch Tim's lips move by typing the following into your search bar ... and pay particular attention to Tim's position, that he would under-promise and over-deliver:

Even as he spoke, he was under-promising. But what has he delivered?
Two months later, we have not heard a boo from this goose.
He and his party leader told Newcastle that they would "hit the ground running" after 16 years in opposition. They irredeemably held this position on 20 March 2011, the Saturday before the State election, when Barry O'Farrell and Kristina Keneally took part in a 7Prime debate/show in Newcastle's Civic Theatre before a predominantly live audience.
(The event was edited, and pre-recorded interviews on some issues were included in the version that ultimately went to air the following night.)
It was a shambolic mess to watch in the theatre, and editing did not improve it.
But O'Farrell's message was repeated ad nauseam: we are going to hit the ground running.
Six months later, the Advocate does not know where they have run to.
Liberal voters in Newcastle have won themselves a pig in a poke, and may be beginning to understand what that is worth.
